Happy Sunday to all of you! Today I want to give you a glimpse of what life is like in the VB home and show you a bit of my daily routine as I prepare for the the upcoming week. In today’s post you will get a look at a few different parts of what makes up our Sunday, including:
1. Getting ready for the day
2. Meal and snack prep for the week
3. Schedule, schedule, schedule
4. Bath time and bed time with the boys
Getting ready for the day
One of the the first and most important (necessary, sometimes annoying haha) parts of the day is simply getting ready. I usually try and have an idea of what kind of look I want to wear for that particular day, based on what my plans are and what I need to get done. However, sometimes I have no idea what I am going to wear for the day, and walk into my closet and play it completely by feel and what I am liking that particular morning. This particular day I felt like a comfy yet sassy dress, with an A-line design. I love a fun dress with attitude and pairing it with some heeled sandals is just what I was in the mood for. I then topped off my look with the Viva La Juicy Rose Perfume#roseeveryday, that gives me that citrus sparkle and charming scent to keep me feeling fresh. There is something to be said for getting ready, there is kind of a rhythm to it that is unique to each person, and once I am ready, I feel so energized to attack the day!
Meal and Snack Prep
The next part of this daily diary, is a something I do in preparing for the upcoming week, each Saturday or Sunday afternoon, and that is meal and snack preparation. Pictured below is the prep and work that goes into preparing one of my favorite snacks, protein bread. The steps are simple and the bread is delicious, and it is healthy too. Part of my meal prep which is not pictured is making sure I have all the items and ingredients I need to be prepared for the upcoming week. I don’t necessarily make every single meal for the week on Sunday, but I do gather my thoughts and take a look at what food I have for the week and plan out mentally and on paper what I will prepare and cook each day for the upcoming week. Sometimes I may stray from my schedule, or mix up the order of meals around, but for the most part, this preparation helps me stay on task and stick to eating healthy.
Schedule, schedule, schedule
Another key part of my daily routine or Sunday diary is taking an in depth look at my calendar and meeting with Brod, so that we can discuss what our upcoming week looks like. We don’t always know every detail of our schedule, and we know that life is what happens when have other plans, but discussing our plans for the week and reviewing our calendar has helped us in a big way. It keeps us on task, helps us understand our high priority items, and allows us to vocalize any tweaks or changes we need to make to our schedules, so that we are always on the same page. It’s our jam session concerning upcoming week.
Bath time, bed time, boys time
Finally, it’s time for bath and bed with Hanes and Arrow. This is easily my favorite part of the day, I love my guys and they seriously crack me up every night with some new quirky or funny thing they do! They both love the bath, but sometimes getting them out can be a battle! Cuddles after bath and then just chilling on our bed, chatting and telling stories, is Brod and I’s best part of preparing for the week. The boys have the biggest imaginations and love telling stories or pretending to be superheroes as they tackle Brod over and over, and I love spending that quality time with them, just simply “being.”
So yeah, that is my day, hopefully this has given you a good glimpse of what my prep day is like, and shows what life is like with the VB’s for a little bit. I thank you all for your love and support, and would love to hear about your preparations you make for the week, and the things you do on a daily basis, so please feel free to share! Have a great week! Much love to you all!
